success stories
One of the survivors (We'll call "E" for privacy reasons) who went through the 18-month program at the shelter, was caught up in human trafficking due to drugs. When her trafficker put her on the streets to attract her first buyer of sex, she was able to apprehend his cell phone before any act took place and was able to run away and call the police.
She came to the shelter and through her transformation with the program at Open Door Foundation, you’d never know she had gone through this hellish nightmare and back. Her dream was to go back to college and complete her psychology degree. Just this past summer (June 2024), she received her diploma in Criminal Psychology because someday she wants to be that expert witness on the stand to describe the minds of traffickers. She is the first survivor from the program to graduate with a higher education degree.
With your generous donations, she received funds for tuition to complete her degree. Won't you consider becoming a donor? Please click on the link at the top right, or the button below to help a survivor make her lifelong dream a reality!
